Extended warranty?

Just need some advice; just bought a washing machine with a 1 year guarantee which I have been told does not include accidental cover. I have been told I can upgrade it to full cover for 2 years for £3.18 a month. Should I go for it?

What accident happens to a washing machine?!

Put £3.18 into a bank account each month instead.

IMHO, these extended warranties are poor value for money

The woman trying to sell it to me said if it broke down because of my error she said something like a coin accidently left in drum it wouldn't be covered unless I took out this additional policy...

The obvious answer is leaving metallic things in your pockets, which fall out and jam the machine.

Other mishaps could include dropping something on top of the machine, or whacking the door as you move something heavy past it.

But I don't take out extended warranties either.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

If you do want extra cover, check the makers website, to see if they offer extended warranties at a better price.

It will cover things going wrong, but not ;accidents or mis-use.

Also so many companies offer two years warranty as standard, youmay being given wrong information, about obly a years cover. Again check their website.

Also, depending on how you paid, your bank account or home insurance might provide warranty freely.

Only had extended cover on one of my washing machines. It took them 8 days to come out and fix it. Never again.

When I repaired washing machines for a living we didn't care what caused the fault, we just repaired it.

My elderly parents had an extended warranty on a fridge freezer.
14 days later they still had not been out to fix it.
    Absolutely pointless warranty.............
