Auto Money keep emailing

For the last few months I've been receiving emails and phone calls from Auto Money
At first it was numerous calls to my mobile, which I didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number. Eventually someone left a voice mail message stating they wanted to talk to me about my log book loan.
As I don't have, and have never had, a log book loan, I called them back to check. They asked all these questions about my identity which I refused to answer. I said that they had called me and I was responding, I had never had a log book loan and I wasn't about to give out any of my details. Came to a stalemate. I wouldn't give any details and they wouldn't give me the car registration the loan was supposedly against.
In the end we agreed on partial details, I gave the second half of my postcode and the month and year of birth, Auto Money then confirmed that they think I may have been confused with another customer who has a similar date of birth and lives in the same area ???? I asked them to remove me from their calling list and then blocked their number.
Since then I have still been receiving emails asking me to get in touch as my loan is in arrears and it may get sent to court. They come about once every three weeks. There are no personal details or loan agreement numbers on these emails.
I've googled Auto Money and can't seem to find anything stating they are scammers etc, just wondered if anyone else had any experience with this company?
Out of interest I bought a second hand car from a dealer back in January 2015. Is there some way of checking if anyone has taken a loan out on my car, without my knowledge?
Thanks

Have you received anything from the DVLA to suggest that someone has registered the car in their name? that could be a refund of road tax, or stopping the direct debit. Or a letter from the DVLA.
A "log book loan" requires an actual V5 to take out the loan, But I assume that you have the V5 for your car.
You could contact the DVLA if necessary https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvlaIf it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
But is it actually the genuine auto money who are contacting you?0

Have you sold a car and not informed the DVLA?
There was a case locally of someone selling a car for cash privately, the buyer then took out several loans on the car using his name and address and disappeared. As the seller had not informed the DVLA the loan companies came after him for years.0 -
