Nuisance Neighbours? What can be done

If they reduce the price then a buyer would be attracted, regardless if they're a landlord. We're trying to help OP not have to take that option though. Also, a house with neighbours issues wouldn't attract good tenants.
If your renting to chavs they'd probably feel right at home with a fire pit down the end of the road. But if your going to let your house to chavs, you can expect many problems.0 -
We lived in different places at different times, so expectations probably differed too.
My experience was of suburban London just after the War; rows of semi dees and wide, tree-lined avenues. It was maybe not the most community-spirited place.
Nevertheless, no one went out to play in the streets on a Sunday. At other times, children were tolerated, or even indulged. With little or no TV, there was good reason to go outdoors if the weather cooperated, and exercise was seen as important in building children's health. We were the next generation and everyone had high hopes for us.
Of course, when the 60s arrived, we threw it all back in our parents' faces, but that's another story!:rotfl:
I grew up in an area that was once reputed to be one of the safest in London. Then someone had the bright idea to build council estates in the area. As a child, it was common to get mugged after school by Mr Rudeboy. You wouldn't play on the streets, you wouldn't even think about it.
In our mid teens we'd sit in the park doing what teenagers do, then the local gangbangers would turn up and beat us for no reason. The National Front would turn up and also beat us for no reason. They'd never beat each other up, why risk having someone fight back when you can pick on children.
Then cheap nightclubs opened up, and the area would get trashed on a weekend night. Broken glass and rubbish everywhere by the morning. A few years back, a chavette was seen defecating outside of the local church as her mates laughed. A young man got stabbed at a cash point at 8pm.
I've long left the area. In my experience putting up estates/social housing everywhere so that everyone can live together as one, big happy family hasn't worked.0 -
Update on this one.
It seems as though the issues of the front of house playground/communal area have been raised by one of the other neighbours, as play equipment, toys, bikes etc have been removed.
Gardens have also been tided, so i assume they would have been in breech of their tennancy contract.
Still no offers tho0
