Kitchen fitter not turned up

Hi
My mum has ordered a kitchen from Magnet. Her old kitchen was to come out on Monday and installation of the new one to continue from there. We ordered a skip for 10 days, as advised, plenty time we thought! Problem is the fitter has never arrived, the kitchen is still to be delivered and we are told he will hopefully be out on Friday. I’m going to make sure Magnet pay for any extra days skip hire but wondering about any advice.....

What does your contract say about delays?

What could the fitter do without the kitchen units?

I imagine, take the old kitchen out.

It took my kitchen fitter a few days to strip my kitchen , sort the plumbing and electrics, before he could fit the new one, although I did have the kitchen delivered before he started.

    OP who arranged the fitter

Is there actually any cost for additional days hiring the skip? Last time I had one it was a standard charge that was paid regardless of how long we had the skip, we just rang them up when it was full to arrange collection.

    Was that while ago.

Skips are hired by the week around here and are charged extra if not collected on agreed date

It was a while ago (8 years) and it may just have been that company, it's the only time I've ever needed a skip so my experience is limited.
