Using PayPal and Starling Bank

I've had a Nationwide current account for some years and it's the account I use in conjunction with my PayPal account - so when I make a PayPal purchase the money comes out of my Nationwide account. But it doesn't appear on my Nationwide statement online for about three to four days.

If find this delay a bit annoying as I also have a Starling account and everything happens instantly with that.

So I decided to link my Starling account to PayPal in the hope that PayPal purchases would appear instantly. They don't!!! I made a PayPal purchase yesterday and it hasn't shown up yet.

Is there any way I can make my PayPal purchases show up on my Starling account instantly?

Yes, pay with your card rather than via instant payment (which isnt that instant as its a direct debit)

Ah ha - now why didn't I think of that! I didn't realise it was an option.

I've set it up now so it looks like it should work as I wanted.
