Letter of Claim - what to do?

I’ve received a Letter of Claim from a firm representing Excel Parking Services saying they’ll take out a CCJ unless I pay £160 or submit a response within the next 30 days, any suggestions what I should do?
I wrote to them initially to tell them I wasn’t paying cause the charge was disproportionate as well as the particular reason I didn’t pay, but haven’t appealed to POPLA.

You couldn't have appealed to POPLA, Excel are not in the BPA.
They can't ''take out a CCJ''!
You do what all other posters with the same letter do, and read the NEWBIES thread post #2, and adapt a reply letter. NOT filling in the reply forms.
You will get a court claim and as long as you come back here and don't try to argue that the charge is 'disproportionate' - and DON'T TELL THEM WHO WAS DRIVING - you will likely win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

if you were able to have appealed to popla, then this must be an old pcn before EXCEL moved to the IPC , so a few years ago since the incident I assume ?0
