Rant about I Supply

I must have called them about 8 times over £110 credit on my account. Firstly it was 'ten days', then '28 days' then 'an expediated payment by the 10th' then 'payment run today by 3pm' and now the latest 'by May 20th' (where they plucked that from I do not know.

Also they messaged me on the day the refund was first due to say they were DOUBLING my Direct Debit, when I am £110 in credit AFTER Winter. I called them and they said 'oh no that's a mistake' and said they'd message me to correct it which they haven't done. I told them I'd be cancelling the DD and paying by SO, they said oh there's no need, we will refund you if we overcharge you! More like I will have to chase them for it, so no chance. My DD is due on the 20th and I have a sneaking suspicion they are trying to avoid during a refund at all costs. Shall I just not pay my bill for the next three months? It is the principle of it though as the money is rightfully mine and should be in MY account.

The manager is calling me back in the next 24 hours, apparently.

£110 may not sound a lot but my monthly DD is only £34.

  • If they increase your DD now you've said no, just invoke the direct Debit Guarantee with your Bank.

Personally I want to build up a gas bill credit throughout the summer months. I d like to be around £250 in credit by November.
The suppliers give us a large discount over standard/variable tariffs with our lower fixed tariffs so I don`t mind them keeping my money in their coffers rather than my banks paying me a derisory low interest rate.
Maybe £110 in May is a little too much. £50 would be fine and in line to build up a healthy amount by November.

    Hi,

Forgot I wrote this in a moment of rage! I was actually quite impressed by the manager who called back, he issued me the refund which I got and gave £20 as a good will gesture. Top service.

He said they'd have to charge me double for the next payment then it would be reduced, as it was too soon. I went along with it on the phone as he was nice but they still didn't send me any emails after so I did cancel the DD and paid normal amount by SO.

House Martin, that is a very good perspective on it. I think I'm a bit skin flint about bills and live in a ridiculously well insulated property, seriously I'm melting at the moment!
