TBH now if you can. Scarifying dries out the soil as there's less coverage. The warmer weather does the same.
Scarify now, try and water the lawn, and then add grass seed and fertiliser. Make sure the soil doesn't dry out.0 -
I was thinking September?0

If you're Greenthumb it's during a hard frost in January! (To suit their quiet period of course). Then 3 months of moss growing in the bare areas before the lawn picks up!0

Is September ok or would you wait till next spring now?0

September is fine. It's the best time for getting a good lawn year-round.0

Jen if you have a sprinkler I'd just do it any time you've got spare time. Have you got your own scarifier? My general rule is spring/summer jobs make sure you leave the lawn still looking green afterwards. Autumn you can rake it to bare soil if you desire.0

No I dont have a scarfier. I am looking at getting Greenthumb to do it for me now in September0
