I am Treasurer of a motorcycle club. I have been advised that if people do not renew there membership I Must delete there records, however I keep a spreadsheet of subscriptions paid and under revenue rules financial records must be kept for 10 years. Although the spreadsheet only shows names and amounts paid, surely I should keep addresses etc to prove who has paid in previous years even though they are no Longer members?

Keeping records like that would be on the basis of meeting the law, not on individual express consent.
However is the law 6 years rather than 10?
Who audits the accounts? Ask them -0 -
assuming you mean the UK HMRC then no, the rule is 6 years after the end of the financial year to which they relate, often called 6 + current year so in easy language "7" yearsand under revenue rules financial records must be kept for 10 years.
the rule for Ltd Co is the same rule for everyone whether company, charity or unincorporated body

Does your club have to file accounts and pay tax to HMRC? They are not going to be interested in the address of ex members as it does not prove anything. They are interested in what evidence you have for your income, ie bank records!0
