Does Using Your Home Insurance Legal Cover Count As A Claim On Your Policy

My home and contents insurance policy comes with what is described as Family Legal Protection. The policy states this can be used to pay the legal costs of a legal advisor in the case of a dispute where damage has been inflicted on your property by a third party.
The policy does not state, if this option is exercised, whether or not it counts as an insurance claim against your policy which you would have to declare going forward when renewing your policy.
Could anyone advise? I would like to be forewarned before approaching my insurance company
