ebay Accounts for sale!

hi everyone I was contacted today from a guy (Removed by Forum Team)) trying to sell me a "used" as he put it, ebay account and having thought about it it sounds like a good idea but also totally immoral if you can buy someone elses feedback and then masquerade it as your own. anyone know what ebays stance is on this?

Whatever ebay's stance on it, don't you think that by buying and trading on an established account (presumably with good feedback) you would become a scammer yourself?

Just ask yourself, why do you need to buy an established eBay account with good feedback unless you are a scammer?

To answer your specific question yes this is against eBay rules and will get you and any associated accounts shut down as soon as discovered.

As far as I know you can buy an existing business that trades on Ebay but you can't buy an Ebay account just for the feedback.

So if you buy an EBay account that sells lightbulbs and you carry on selling lightbulbs that would be ok, if you start selling dog food on the same account then it wouldn't.

As for personal accounts that seems like a bad idea. As said above if you're buying an account merely for the feedback then it makes you look like the scammer rather than the seller. At face value the seller hasn't done anything wrong, the buyer of the account may be doing so.

eBay's stance is that it's against the rules. If you get caught, you risk suspension or even a complete ban. You can purchase a business that trades on eBay and acquire the account as part of the business purchase, but you cannot purchase just the account.
Common sense and experience tell me that no cold caller is ever good news, especially a cold caller offering a sketchy product that they're not allowed to sell and therefore do not really own.
There is absolutely no legitimate reason for you to purchase an eBay account. None. The only reason to do this is in order to scam customers or avoid a ban from eBay. It is not at all unusual for conmen to specifically target other conmen, because what are you going to do - complain to eBay? Or perhaps action fraud? Who may then be very interested in investigating exactly why you were trying to buy eBay accounts in the first place? I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this.

I should also add, if you sell your ebay account and the buyer rips people off, ebay will come after YOU for the money owed by the scammer who bought your account. This is because ebay store the details of the person who set up the account (i.e. you) and since they don't allow accounts to be sold/transferred then as far as they are concerned your account has ripped people off and you are liable.
