There used to be companies offering a prefix number to ring overseas nos (US/Oz/NZ/Eu/India - not cards) from a landline. Help please.

There still are. Most use VOIP consolidators but with standard tariffs falling, the number of providers has similarly gone down. With email and video services being used in preference, there is little incentive to use them, especially if you plan to use your existing phone as the gateway.0
