Should I warn my GP that Blue Badge will be contacting her - to see whether or not to issue me with a renewed blue badge ?
Or will that appear "pushy" ?

No.
Let the GP's system deal with it.0 -
Do I have any right of appeal if I am rejected - even though they have been in touch with my GP ?
Not that I expect this to happen .0 -
Depending on location and conditions the process can run surprisingly smoothly.
I applied for my aunt online on a sunday (she is in a different county). By the time I'd phoned her Monday afternoon to explain she needed to post documents and drop a short letter to GP the council had phoned to say she would recieve a blue badge if she sent a copy of some id documents.
It appears her GP was all set up to action things quickly.
If it makes you feel more comfortable there is no harm dropping a quick note (we have online messaging) just saying you are applying and they may be contacted. But I wouldn't use an appointment or phne call.0
