Banking a US cheque

Hi everyone.

Could do with a little help here. I have a cheque from a us company for approx $80. Now I seem unable to bank it with A & L because it isn't big enough. Thing is, time is running out, there is only about 20 days left before the cheque expires.

Anyone got any ideas, other than opening another account just to put one cheque in.

Cheers

If it's made out to you and A&L is the only bank account you have, and they wont take it you're a bit stuck I'd say. You can open a dollar account (Lots of banks will let you - Cater Allen, Citibank, Barclays etc) but it's hardly worth it for 40 quid!
  • There's a service used by eBay users which is often recommended in this situation. Haven't used it myself, but I think it's AuctionChex.com.
