Amazon Breakdown & Accident Cover - worth it?

I'm looking to purchase items for my new home e.g. tv, washing machine, fridge, toaster, kettle... After researching each item required, I intend to purchase it from the cheapest place. As you can guess, some items are the cheapest on Amazon e.g. Breville toaster and I was wondering whether to get Amazon's Breakdown & Accident Cover alongside the items. Has anyone used it before? How was the claims process? The manufacturer's warranty is 1 year though I imagine the toaster will last longer than that before it breaks down.

Only you can answer that. Personally I've never had a toaster that hasn't lasted many years, and when it has broken I've not had a problem buying a new one, if its was a washing machine then another matter entirely - but many brands can be had with 2 years minimum and extendable to 5 years as offers or by paying. These are higher priced, obviously, so may be worth protecting more depending on your outlay.0
