well that is their problem for employing a parking contractor and the JEREMY HUNT guidelines for the NHS clearly state that they are jointly liable and responsible for the actions of their contractor

tell them to read these guidelines which were published almost 3 years ago and ask them why they are not following them

Reply from parking department "A cancellation of the PCN will be a cost to us, which we do not want to do. You will have to appeal to Parking Eye"

Ask them what the cost is, because you might cover it if only, say £20.

Or, just go ahead with my plan as already set out. Exactly as explained.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    so what do you think?

Standard letter as in the Newbies post (appeal would be from "Dad") or an individual one saying about the hirer/leasee? (which I'd need help with!)

Thanks again. Frustrated that the landowner can't cancel a PCN without a charge to them? Who are these at PE!!!!

Not the template appeal, NOT for your case.

The easy one from Dad naming you as hirer/lessee (name and address, obviously). You do not need help with that. I already said what to say, it's literally 2 or 3 sentences, max.

    Hi
So PE have issued the hirer with a PCN to their address. This is dated 31 days after the event. Would appreciate any help on what to do next?

    Many thanks

    Hi

Just so I don's slip up - do I appeal just saying what was in the post you're referring to, or do I need to just send the first letter in the Newbies post? Do I need to wait for the certain amount of days too?
    Thanks in advance!

I would make a lot more fuss with Pals, try to involve your local paper, Department of Health, and M.P. After all, you have paid, and a simple human error should not be treated as a major breach of contract. Should this get to court PE are likely to lose if the judge considers it de minimus.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

    Hospital car parks
and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Send the appeal from hirers, written by Edna Basher (in the NEWBIES thread section on lease cars).

How strange, literally had an email from the hospital office to say that they have decided to cancel it after I sent them the link from Redx regarding their joint responsibility and the NHS guidelines!

    Thanks for your help everyone!
