Could be due to driving style, could be due to type of tyre - is it a low profile tyre? They wear out quicker. Powerful front wheel drive car and low profile tyres woukd go through rubber quickly....

Its not a low profile tyre. Its a VW Touran with manufacture Pirelli tyres.

Where are you buying this car from, a dealer or private seller? How do you know that the tyre/wheel is the original one that came from the factory?

Buying from a VW dealer. The Pirelli tyre they use is the same on all the Touran's i've seen on the 2016 model.

There’s not many members with a crystal ball so make, model and type of tyre would help.

I thought you all had crystal balls?! ;-)

VW Touran with Pirelli Cinturato tyres.

More important is whether they have worn evenly. Even wear is perfectly acceptable but uneven wear would point to something out of alignment.

According to the dealer both front tyres are 3.4mm so thats a little good news then!

Yes, but the dealer could've swapped the original wheels/tyres with another vehicle they were selling previously. Quite common really.

I doubt it'svery common at all. I sold 5000 cars and never did it once.

Think about it. A pair of budget new on a car =£90?

Or pay someone to swap them over (£30?) and STILL have one car with worn out tyres?

No brainer. there are lots of things the motor trade do to save money. This is not one of them, too much effort for no return.
