UK Car Rental for £1 - Cheap way to get to the airport
Comments
-
Week 2 of 3 consecutive one-way rentals with Europcar from Norwich to London Luton and Heathrow Airports.
Last week was a mint green Fiat 500, this week...
A Mercedes-Benz S350d
Even the Europcar employees were jealous - apparently, these are needed back at airports more than in the regions. So while you'll probably end up with an Economy or a Compact, this suggests that some of the cars from the Europcar Selection fleet end up getting assigned to £1 one ways.0 -
Following post #12 above, my third £1 one way with Europcar was another mint green Fiat 500 Twin Air from Norwich to Heathrow.
Then, at short notice, we had an invitation down to Maidstone on a Friday night. For the two of us, cheapest thing to do was a £1 one way to Heathrow, then tube and train home via London.
What was waiting for me that sunny Friday evening?
2017 Jaguar XE R-Sport. :T
Quite a treat. The S-Class I reported on above was super luxurious, but quite absurd. This was more compact (BMW 3 Series size) and driver-oriented, so a pleasure to spend 3 hours on the motorway in. Good MPG too, with a diesel engine. When I returned it I noticed that the car was being flagged up for decommissioning from the fleet, having reached its maximum rental milage. This suggests another facet of the £1 one ways - you're not just rebalancing the fleet, you might also be given a car that needs to go back to a central hub for sale.0 -
Nice! £1 well spent.0
