Parking Charge Notice

I received a parking charge notice on my car whilst parked at a university staff car park by APCOA. I'm debating whether to pay this within the 28 day period to get the 50% discount. Interestingly the parking charge notice didn't specicy the amount with a £ it said #80.00. This alone makes me dubious.
Any thoughts on how I should proceed.
