Vehicle service plan

Options
I have paid a deposit on a used car with a dealer which I will be picking up in 2 days. At the same time I was sold a service plan for £557 which is for the first 3 services and 3 MOTs all to be done at the dealership. As the car still has 4 years manufactures warranty it has to have the services to keep the warranty valid.

Having now thought about it I don't think the plan is such good value for money. As I haven't picked the car up yet what are my rights regarding asking them to cancel this plan.

The plan is listed on the vehicle order form which states "This document contains the terms of a contract. Sign them only if you wish to be legally bound by them".

So what do the terms of the contract say about cancelling it?

Only you can see it, we've no way of knowing.

I have no separate contract for the service plan it is listed on the vehicle order form under the heading "Dealer fitted accessories". I am aware you cant get out of a contract for purchasing a car so I am wondering if that is why it was added to the order form.

That's not a bad price for 3 services and 3 MOTs, I'm currently getting quotes for a service on my 3 year old car still under warranty and so far I've been given prices between £240-£380 even at the cheaper end if you multiply it by 3 and add MOT costs on top you would still be better off with the service plan (I'm assuming at least one service is a full service with the plan)

You may well be right, I think I'm just getting new car jitters, have I bought the right car, is it right for me etc.

This time next week I will probably be fine about it.
