Small companies with very cheap line rental

I recently moved to Virgin Media for Broadband and TV. They actually don't do phone lines as well anymore for the new Project Lightning customers.

Now if it was up to me I would dump the line line but wife wants to keep it because of elderly relatives who don't like ringing mobiles (one is 104). We would never ring out on it.

I wanted to go VOIP but we have a really good number we have had for 20 years and I have read that transferring a line to VOIP is easy buy if I ever wanted to go back it's a pain in the !!!!. Also at the moment you can't register new Vonage accounts through Virgin.

So, been looking at a few very cheap companies and found these starting from as little as £9.50 a month.

http://www.falconnet.co.uk

Does anyone here use any of these companies and if so can you recomend them or others? Also if they go bust, would I lose my number?

Read T&Cs very carefully, they are usually quoted exclusive of VAT.

Falconnet and Merula are the same company, look at the company registration numbers. Shetland Broadband is overdue at Companies House for filing purposes, make of that what you may.

Thanks, shame about Shetland as I would like to support a small business if I can but don't want to risk downtime.

Uno seems too be the biggest company of the small ones and Trustpilot reviews are positive so I think will go for them.
