Do you need a referral to get a Mri done ?
I hope you can get sorted .

Yes. I have mobility issues in my left shoulder and i went to the doc to get a referral (i've been getting physio for several months with no improvement) and he suggested an X Ray of the shoulder as it would show if its a bone problem, then only get an MRI if its not bone related (he suggested wear on the joint or arthtritis as things they would check for).

So waiting for the results of that to see what it shows (or doesnt)

The problem is at this stage, noone knows exactly whats causing it.

There would be a school of thought that says there may be scar tissue on a muscle that is preventing free movement of the shoulder but i guess until i get that confirmed or denied they cant / want do much.

If this X Ray doesnt show up a bone related issue then it must be tissue based so the next step would be an MRI.

But yes i'd definitely be up for whatever treatment can work and will resolve it.
