error 1606

I wonder if anyone can advise me what to do with this problem.

When I am trying to install software, for example nero or easy cd creator I get the following error message.

"error 1606. could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Recent\."

I am runnning XP Home with Service Pack 2 installed.

Thank you for reading/helping.

    I dont think so (not sure) but I followed the path suggested but there is no folder called Common Administrative Tools after User Shell Folders which is part of that fix

    I found someone in another forum that was having exactly the same problem as you. This is the advice that was given. It fixed the problem for the other guy.

    Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes) Navigate to this registry path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders
    Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”) Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.
