Frustration with Barclays

  • I was lucky I havn't delt with TSB as it was back then since I was 16 in my first job and went into an unathorised 1p o/d. The staff were rude saying I was managing my account badly so I asked for the manager to complain. He wasn't bothered so I closed the account. Moved to co-op, then HSBC, then Barclays, then Natwest and finaly Abbey. I find them all hopeless. Still on the plus side everytime I move I get the special offers to attract new customers.

The biggest thing a bank (LTSB) cheated me out of was my belief they were loyal to customers who were loyal to them. I've been with them over 20 years, & the way they behaved once I went BR was a disgrace. It's difficult for me to get to the branch, but as soon as I can I'm going to withdraw whatever cash is there & close the account. :(

I don't know why I feel guilty or sentimental about Barclays. I have had one particular account with them for 20 years and NEVER been overdrawn (over my £250 limit anyway) except for the past 3 months. This is all due to them paying out for a direct debit and the rest is all charges - £650 worth!!! This obviously shows they have no guilt or sentimental value attached to me!
