Was it the 5.0 you tried or the 2.3?

    The 5.0 v8.

Coming from a 370Z GT 3.7 litre v6 - a car not reknowed for its agility but it could certainly run rings round the Mustang.

I do think they are cool cars mate. Not test driven one yet though, think that will be Tuesday or Thursday. I do not want to be disappointed now though!

It depends what your expectations and needs are. They're a great car but if handling and agility are a factor for you then be prepared for disappointment.

They're big cars too - much bigger on the outside than the amount of usable space on the inside suggests they should be.

Get a good long run in one. Take it out round country roads. Take it in through town traffic. Try parking it.

If you're happy and have done all that then great :)

Worth also looking at an M2. There are some cracking deals about. Big discounts mean the price difference compared to the take-it-or-leave price of the Mustang isnt as big as you'd think.

The build quality is nothing like the BMW either; the Mustang is going to be hilariously fast in a straight line and will sound incredible but positively mediocre everywhere else, at best. Poor interior, poor ride quality, poor handing, poor space, poor visibility, poor fuel economy.

Not to put you off; I'd probably still have one but not as a daily driver. Just get your expectations right before you test drive it; it's a fairly cheap American car with a huge engine in it, and it'll feel like it.

Could be different driving styles but I've had a few 350z, 370z and the new Mustang and with the driving aids on it I found it handled brilliantly, at least as good as the 370 and a lot quicker.

I waited 16 months for mine but sold it after 9 months. It was great, but I just wasn't using it - and its a huge car. Huge improvement over the previous model.

Just to add - the driving aids aren't just for show - sure in standard mode the mustang felt a little disconnected, but using sports mode in steering and driving transforms the car.

Terrible in the wet though, the 370z was much better in that respect.

Anyway, this isnt really a zed versus tang debate - to the op, go for it, amazing car, great interior and toys, drinks petrol like there is a hole in the tank but car will get serious amount of attention and sounds incredible. I had the metallic black with white interior, stunning combo.

The grey is available with the stripe fully kitted up.

Then there is the yellow with a black roof, fully kitted up and a blue one with 1 less extra.

    It looks good, though!

Does it cost to post cars for sale on piston heads?

Lease one for a couple of years?

I imagine depreciation could be quite high.

Quite the opposite. Thanks to a long waiting list for the V8 they appreciate in price. The people who bought them when they first came out made £1000s selling them after a year.
