UKCPS Parking charge increased from £100 to £130

Hi,

I followed the ‘old’ advice/thread to ignore private parking tickets, and hence did not appeal when I received the first parking charge letter as I thought the reason: driver - observed leaving site was ludicrous!

I received a third letter today - Reminder Letter and was shocked to see the balance due has increased from £100 to £130.

Please can someone advice what I should do? Why the increase without reason? £130 is a hefty sum :( Will it keep increasing if I ignore the letter?

Please help. Thank you in advance.

*I tried to attach photos of the letters but because I am a newbie, I can't do it.

yes they probably will increase it , its a demand for money and the figure can be almost any figure they like , but is usually around the £160 mark from most debt collectors

the NEWBIES thread is your best source of information

the correct advice for an IPC member is to APPEAL , ONCE , THEN IGNORE unless you get an LBC or an MCOL within 6 years

IGNORE is another option (so no appeal) but otherwise as above

unless the landowner or MA cancels this for you , there is nothing you can do but ride out the ludicrous demands

they have 6 years to try a court claim, where a judge decides who pays who and how much

so until them post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ covers it, the figure requested is largely irrelevant at this time , you asked for help, nobody can help you , we can only advise you to IGNORE and fight them in court if it gets that far

They can increase it as much as they like, a claim for leaving site will do them no good in court, they would crash and burn.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Can I ask why you thought that would be the reason ???

UKCPS are just one of the scam vermin who infest
    car parks

The "left car park" rubbish is a new wheeze by these nutters
and they must prove it .... are they using predator tactics
and does the landowner/MA know what they are up to ?
The problem here is that what else is the warden doing,
what other types of pictures is he taking and is he using
pictures to upload to sites .... who knows what a predator
    does in his fantasy world.

If the CEO of the BPA can be caught by police taking
"upskirt" pictures at a London station, then the low life
wardens can get up to all sorts of tricks.

The £130, an odd amount, will be a fantasy debt collector
chancing their luck to see if you are a mug.
UKCPS simply cannot increase the charge over and above
the charge stated on their signs
    IGNORE STUPID DEBT COLLECTORS

As said, ignore this mucky lot and just wait to see if
they issue court papers and then you can challenge them
for proof that you left the site

You haven't read enough threads or been on this forum long enough if that shocked you!

A 'driver left the site' PCN is highly unlikely to go to a small claim. They almost certainly have no evidence whatsoever. You are likely just to get a series of daft letters. Stop being 'shocked' and start laughing at the letters!

Allegedly, UKCPS have more than enough to worry about right now with a DVLA and IPC investigation this week, as we speak, looking into who it seems they have passed data to and what they might be allowing a person to do with it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
