Tesco credit card limit increase

Options
Hi all,

Spoke to an advisor yesterday who informed me that as a Tesco Foundation card holder that i cannot request a credit limit increase? Only customers with non foundation accounts.

Any truth to this?

Thanks

  • My credit limit was increased after four months of having the card. Although, I did not request the increase. Tesco wrote to me to advise they would be increasing the limit.

Have you tried requesting an increase through the app?
  • OP how long have you had the cc?

I've found this on their website OP:

    https://yourcommunity.tescobank.com/t5/Credit-Cards/How-can-I-increase-or-decrease-my-credit-limit/ta-p/203

As wanderlust says have you tried through the app? Have only had mine a month but the option's there to request an increase/decrease and mine's a Foundation card too.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

I have a tesco card. They wrote to tell me they were increasing my limit from £600 to £1200. Then they wrote again to say they were not going to after all! In retrospect I'm glad because in reality I would have just maxed it and got more in debt.
Just keep paying on time and don't get too close to the limit. My first increase came after around 4 months.

Hi ive had the card for almost two years.
At the time I had three defaults which come off my credit file.

Initially I had a limit of £250 and got increased to £600 that was over a year ago.
I've never missed a payment and most months cleared the balance of in full.

I carried a balance of around £450 for 2/3 months paid off more than the minimum payment amounts then cleared it off.

Yes i've tried an increase on the app and it doesnt allow me to.

I have two other credit card which have increased their limits several times again I've never missed a payment on these clear them in full and if i do have a balance on them i always pay more than the minimum payment amount.

Have you tried the new Fluid card? Maybe a better option.

Don't ask for a increase on you limit, that's what they gave you,
on your credit rating with THEM, not any of the others.
If you have handled your account OK, then go for a different card.

I'm not seeking another card just quite yet.
A decent cashback card maybe - i spend around £450 a month food and fuel which i use my credit card for an pay off in full.

I still have one default which im trying to getting a settlement figure for with the view for it to be removed or settle on my credit file.
