Amazon community seller blocking negative review

Options
I bought a finether window vac through amazon, there was nothing but 5 star reviews so was surprised when I received it as it’s rubbish. It leaves circular marks on the windows, it takes forever to clean windows and you have to stand holding a cord in case it falls. All in all it is one of my absolute worst purchases. I tried to leave an honest review and the amazon community rules prevented me from doing so as it’s not a verified purchase, even though I bought it through amazon. Apparently as I got it at a discounted price I can’t leave my review.
Amazon have agreed that I can return it for a refund but they can’t help me leave a review. I’m worried that others will waste their money on this item, does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this?

Why did you get it for a discounted price, and how much did you pay? One of those codes given out so people can leave fake (albeit usually positive) reviews?

No, it was just an amazon deal and I paid £120 for it, so not chump change.

Well maybe, but the whole point of a review system (rated 1-5) is to provide honest feedback for future customers.

If the item is crap, I'd prefer to read reviews to that effect and combine them with positive ones to form an overall opinion.

The point is they won’t let me leave a review so people aren’t seeing a balanced view, they only seem to be allowing 5 star reviews.

Return for a refund and buy elsewhere, hopefully others will have the sense to do what you do.

It’s been quite a hassle to get to return it, mainly as the weather was too baD for me to try it when I first got it, so I’m just trying to stop others going through this, or not bothering and being out of pocket. I’m just amazed I can’t put a review on and amazon can’t help me do it.
