Last minute package or free flight offer?

I plan to go on holiday somewhere with my girlfriend this summer, and we have free flight tickets to Europe (limited destinations, and we have to pay £20 tax each).

The plan was to book a hotel and use the free flights, but based on the last minute deals that have been on here recently, I'm starting to think it might be cheaper to just wait for a last minute package holiday, and not use the free flights.

I finish uni around the 25th June, is there likely to be many cheap last minute deals then?

What do you think would work out cheaper?

Pick your destination (without booking) and then compare the 2 but a £20 flight is a good deal

The problem is that we need to give 1 months notice for the free flights, so we don't have the option of checking if there are any last minute deals.

Also we'd much rather go somewhere like Egypt, which seems to have a lot of last minute deals at the moment, than Malaga/Majorca/Faro. (which are the best free flight destinations)

Are the cheap last minute deals to places outside of Europe still likely to be around towards the end of June/Beginning of July?

not so much going into July but end of June , yes. The more you go into July the more the price will go up.
