School refused selected GCSE options

    No wonder They have admin errors if they are working Sunday's! They should be taking a day off. :)

    It depends on a lot. Imagine if 50 kids go for one subject, they can't have a class of 35 and one of 15...so some are dropped.

    Also, grades are important, attitude in previous lessons, ability to complete or achieve well.

    In some schools, students are not allowed to do certain subjects because the school know they won't do so well. Massaging the figures so to speak. Some schools only put some kids in for one or two GCSEs - maintains the 100% pass rate you see.

    Creative subjects tend to get short shrift as well. It might be the case that they haven't had enough students to fill one single class (think music or drama) so they've removed that option.

    Most schools will gladly talk you through their reasoning though if you book an appointment.
