We have 2 cars in our household, both are 2003 models an Audi and a Range Rover, might sound a silly question but would we need to worry about the scanner type devices used to steal cars these days?

Or does it only apply to the newer cars? :o

I don!!!8217;t think thieves would bother trying to steal 15 year old cars.

Thieves using repeater devices to steal keyless entry vehicles is a bit overhyped.
More common to simply pop the drivers side window, lean into the car and plug a laptop into the obd port, then defeat the security, open the deadlocked doors and drive off.

The type of people who use gadgets to steal cars are only interested in new £30K+ models not some banger money 2003 car.

Not so. My neighbour's 15 year-old Jeep (2003 model) was stolen. It was alarmed and had the factory immobiliser. It just disappeared one night and no-one heard a thing. Found wrecked 5 days later.
