Grounds for asking them to write off?

Hi all,
Getting on top of money etc after spending years with my head in the sand. Finally looked at my credit file and noticed I have 3 defaults from when I was out of work, currently both untouched and unpaid since 2015 time, with no contact from either since (I had no idea about them!); one is NewDay for an Aqua credit card and the other show up as two defaults against O2, a device plan and an airtime plan.
Interestingly, both Aqua and O2 have since given me new accounts with them. I got an Aqua credit card last month. O2 gave me a mobile contract last year.
As I have paid nothing and am in default to both prior to these new accounts, is there any way of asking them to be written off or anything?
Many thanks.

They'll be removed 6 years from the date of default.
You could pay them.
Or, run the risk of a ccj being applied on them.0 -
