Buy one of these and have some fun learning how to pick locks https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BKN2S3S/ref=sspa_mw_detail_3?psc=10

We lost the key to our patio door.
My husband followed a video on youtube for how to break in to a patio door.
It worked in seconds.
We now have a more secure lock fitted.0 -
I agree with the above consensus however, purely for the sake of devilment, I believe it is a legal requirement that all keys are provided on the day of completion...

If it's a Eurolock (most are), then fit a new one but carefully measure the offset to fit one that doesn't protrude from the outside of the door. Most door makers chuck anything in, and the protruding barrel of a Euro lock is the easiest thing in the world to break off using a short length of scaffold pole with a lock outline cut into the side, place over lock barrel, rotate and the lock snaps off.
If you buy the correct offset, particularly for the outside, then you can reduce the risk of forced entry this way.
Google "euro lock offset" to see the choices available. Make sure you get offset 1 and 2 the right way round.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
