    Is ther a NHBC guarantee? If a dispute has arisen (at such an early stage) you should register it with them. Emphasise the Health & Safety nature of the complaint.

    Will go and check the paperwork tonight to see what guarentees we have, although will try and get off work early to see the builder before he leaves today and use my power of persuasion! It's a small local building company, and a small development, so it's quite easy to get to speak to someone directly!

    He's been very good at doing all the other things (filling in small cracks, and re-doing the ceiling where a screw had popped out from the plasterboard), so I'll keep at him until we can reach some sort of solution!

    I hope he's also repairing the nice big chip they made in the enamel bath too!! It's already started to discolour the area around the chip...
