Next declined credit, but processed order...

Hi guys!

So today I placed an order with Next (I’ve done so before always paying in full) but they offered me £10 off if I opened a credit account with them. Decided I would do this as £10 saving is better in my pocket.

I agreed and recieved an order confirmation, the order is showing in my account and has been processed ready for dispatch. I can’t cancel it. Then I noticed my credit limit had changed from 600, to 0. I spoke with live chat who informed me that my credit has been declined, my order has already been confirmed and will be dispatched according to the live chat.

What happens now? Will the want to take full payment ASAP? My problem really comes because my recent transactions doesn’t show the £10 discount they offered, it’s listed as full price. I’m confused. I can make the full payment if necessary I just didn’t want too.

Thanks!

    Have you already got a next account i tried to use one and set up another account as the lady in shop said i could it cancelled the order and added it to my existing account and charged full price. i cancelled order and now i am trying to clear my account in order to close. They get quite funny about you being able to use these £10 off codes.
  • Did you have to enter any card details?

    As you weren't accepted for credit you won’t get the discount.

    Didn’t have to enter any card details so theoretically they’ll have to chase me for payment, but I don’t like the idea of that !!!128517;

    Nope not got another credit account, I’ve never had credit with them, I don’t have the best credit rating but, I would expect to get SOME credit. I’m above the average according to clear score :Thaha
  • There's no such things as credit scores or ratings - so ignore those and the made up averages.

    It's likely the order will get cancelled, or you'll get an invoice/demand for payment.

    If in doubt, return the item either via post or to your nearest store

    If you have a rubbish credit history that will be likely why not because of scores. They would have done more through checks

    Next are indeed odd with their accounts. I was initially given £300, subsequently dropped to £100 (my outstanding balance) due to adverse data from CRA. I assumed they would close my account when I paid in full. Instead my limit went to over £3000 within a couple of months.
