Trading in old MacBook?

I'm looking to trade in my MacBook Pro for a newer model. It's an early 2011 model which still works fine, albeit a little slow now. I have the original charger too.
Only issue is the mac has a dent in the side of it, where the cat knocked it off the sofa and on to a flowerpot. The dent doesn't cause any issues, however iStore and Apple will not trade it in for money off a new model.
I was wondering if anyone has experience of trading in MacBooks, and could advise me where to go to get the best price?
Thanks.

I sold one on Ebay (could have been lucky I guess!) Check prices and then set your own price. Do Buy It Now with pay immediately -too many time-wasters for auctions. Send with full insurance and -very important- get proof of delivery. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

I was considering eBay but it's not something I've ever done before. I even have the box in the loft, so it's basically the full set-up with one minor dent!
I'll take a look at selling fees etc and see how much they are going for. I'm not after a fortune for it, but as it cost me £999 in the first place it'd be nice to get a little something towards a new one.0 -
Not sold much before and then selling a apple item.
Scammers ideal target and genuine buyers being a bit wary..
Not really something to start listing on ebay with little feedback.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Everyone has to start somewhere but if I knew the answer, I wouldn't be posting on here looking for advice.0

^^ And you have been gived good advice so far
I would probly swerve ebay for the reasons given above.
If it were me, I would start by posting it on facebook - see if any of your friends / acquaintances are interested ..
In my experience, there is always someone looking for something apple ..
Good luck0 -
Since posting I have found another website called MacBack who have very good reviews and don't seem to care if it has a dent. They're offering me £60 more than Apple would without the dent.0

I was considering selling mine (late 2011 model) but have now decided against it.
Bought an SSD and did a fresh install of the latest OS onto it and is now running great. No need to swap.
Battery life is better (SSD takes up less power) but not as good as new so will consider swapping that out next.
Cant see any real benefit in me getting a newer model0 -
I sold mine to MacBack as I said earlier. So far so good. It was picked up by DPD for free and I!!!8217;ve had updates about it!!!8217;s journey, with an email telling me that I!!!8217;ll receive a quote on Tuesday. The online estimation was £210, so we!!!8217;ll see if they stick to that. If I don!!!8217;t agree then they!!!8217;ll send it back free of charge. Will update when I know more.0
