Can I use a c/o address?

Hi, I have a question regarding my bank account. Can I give my UK bank a care of address, as I am homeless at the moment? I am getting help for npw from my good friend, and he will let me use his place's address for post.

I am not being funny but I don't quite get these kind of responses. I'd say approx. 90% of posts on here could be answered by 'ask the bank/organisation' type of responses.

I for one on occasion prefer to ask here before wasting time/money contacting the bank.

You say 'my UK bank'. Does that mean you already have a bank account? If so, what address do they hold for you? Why did you include 'UK' in the term, have you been abroad?
Wizzywig says that a lot of answers on here are curt but, without all of the relevant information, it really is hard to try and give a definitive answer.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Maybe different banks have different rules on it and maybe different rules dependant on your history; and you don't say which bank you refer to... so in short.. as agrinnall said, 'ask the bank' is good advice.

I'd say that's a high estimate, but where it does apply then that is very often the answer that is given, because the bank can give a definitive answer where we may only be able to offer an opinion.

But there might also be people who can offer a definitive answer too (if he had given bank name etc. admittedly)

    which he didn't - so we can't.
He's wasting our time rather than his own - doesn't get my sympathy.

ETA - as ColdIron said, read his other posts!
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
