Need help with Student Loan
Shoxie
Hi guys,
Shoxie here from Austria. I am going to start studying in Aberystwyth in September 2018.
I have a question about all the student loan stuff, because we do not have anything like it in Austria and it is quite confusing. So people told me to get a student loan from the uk gov, but my question is, is it not better to go one from a bank, because the interest rate might be lower? Could anybody advice me on that and help me out.
With regards,
Shoxie , Yes we love beer and its muuuuh not kangoroos

You should get a loan from the Welsh government, not the UK one. It's very unlikely that a bank loan would be more cost effective than a student loan, even if the headline interest rate is lower.

Living costs
EU students might be able to get help with their living costs if any of the following apply:
they normally live in Wales and didn't move there solely for the purposes of education, and they've been living in the UK for at least three years before the start of their course,
they're an EEA or Swiss migrant worker or the family member of one,
they're the child of a Swiss national, or
they're the child of a Turkish worker.0
