UKCPS Parking Charge

Jacquiben
Jacquiben Posts: 1 Newbie
Hi,
I visited the cinema with my daughter on Sunday 25th April but could not find anywhere to park. Following everyone's lead I bumbed up onto the pavement type area right at the back of the cinema. I was not blocking any exits but I have now received a parking charge notice for parking 'Out of marked bay'.
Has anyone any recent experience of this?
Should i just pay it, appeal or ignore it?
Many thanks.

Since the change of law in 2012 the advice is not to ignore.

Looking on the UKCPS website it says they are a member of the IPC so the first part of your appeal would be to use the "Template appeal for BPA or IPC members" on the "**NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!" thread.

As a new registrant I can't post the link.

More details would also be useful as to signage etc.

There are literally thousands of recent threads - did that not give you a hint..?

    This question expired in 2012!

    @OP

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving

You need to edit your OP to remove details of the driver

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

No appeal yet, if it was a windscreen PCN from an IPC firm, always wait for the NTK and ESPECIALLY NOW with UKCPS!

So to the OP, if it was a windscreen PCN, ignore that and wait to see if UKCPS can get DVLA data in a month's time which is something we are talking about on another very interesting thread called 'attendance notice'.

I wonder if UKCPS are experiencing a squeaky bum time right now...

Read the 'attendance notice' thread as well as the NEWBIES sticky thread.

    :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
