Normally a windshield claim does not impact on NCD

If your aborted claim involved anyone else or anyone's property then they may have temporarily witheld awarding NCD to see if any third party claims arise from the incident

But the best way to find out is by going to the horse's mouth!

If you are unhappy with their response then the way forward is a complaint in line with their complaints procedure.

Then if you are unhappy with the response or they ignore you for 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you

Now you have reported the incident it will be on your record and you must disclose it to future Insurers you go to for quotes

Yeah someone else's property was involved, but they told me that it stays on three system for 6 months. I believe that would give me 1 years NCD about the middle of this month. Would they resend any documents with updated NCD, or would I need to contact them about it?

if it involves someone elses property they may have made a claim against your Insurance.

just because you fixed your car yourself doesn't mean someone else hasn't made a claim against you.

This could be why you've lost your year.

.... would I need to contact them about it?
    Yes.

That's why you are much better speaking to them to find out what's happening!

    Did you cause the damage?

When discussing this with your insurer ensure that there is no likelihood of them having any liability to any third party.
