How do I close my TSB account

Hi,

I can’t go in to branch to close down my TSB Current Account because my nearest is nine miles away and I’m not intending on travelling that far, so I will have to write a letter. Can anyone help me what the letter will need to include?

Thanks

Rather than close it yourself use the Current Account Switch Service to move it to another bank and the closure will happen automatically.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I wouldn’t like to do that.

Why not? Some banks will even pay you for doing it. Which bank do you have your account with / do you want to move to?

Your name, address, account number and sort code are all you need.
They sent me a cheque to my home address for my interest.

No, you just think you wouldn't like to.

You can visit the branch and sign the relevant form, or write them a letter including your details. They'll send a cheque for any monies owed.

Just switch it to another current account that you hold.
You don't need to do anything else.

Write to the bank asking them to close the account and send you a cheque for the balance. Pretty Polly.
