I have some debts from 20 years ago that I am still paying, recently I tried to claim back PPI on one of the accounts but no one has any records of the account but I am still paying the debt back to a debt collection agency, if no records exist do I still have to carry on paying the debt?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi, What does CCA stand for?glentoran99 wrote: »send them a CCA request and if they cant provide it stop paying0 -
Consumer credit agreement, basically the paperwork, if they cant produce it they cant enforce the debt0

Would you know if there is a template letter I can send them?
Thanks0 -
You are assuming the debt is covered by the CCA, this is only for credit agreements and such. Lots of other debts, e.g. telecoms are not covered by the CCA (technically some are but the majority aren't) and that doesn't stop the debt being any less enforceable.glentoran99 wrote: »Consumer credit agreement, basically the paperwork, if they cant produce it they cant enforce the debt0 -

You're right, but presumably as he was querying PPI it would be a logical assumption Don't really get that with phone contracts0 -

It would be for Credit cards/Catalogues & a loan which I have assumed that they are covered by the Consumer credit agreement.0
