    Im currently 8 days into my 16day visit driving along the west coast just done san francisco, yosemite, monterey and currently sitting in cambria looking out over the pacific and on day one i withdrew $200 cash from.an atm and i currently have $107 left.

    In other words everyone accepts cards the money ive spent has been for odd dollar transactions and in a couple of places i didnt want to hand over my card

    There are several chain garages in Florida that offers free cash withdrawal
    WAWa is one that i use in Kissimmee

    Helluva drive from West to East to save a few bucks though !!!

    I'm not sure that you can as UK Debit cards are run as credit in the US, I can check at the weekend though (but then this is a nearly 2 year old thread)
    Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada :beer: :dance:
