"Stamp Duty in Scotland is now called Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT)..." maybe that's what was meant. Bit pedantic if you ask me. ;-)

Good job I didn't ask you then ;)

    I live in England. :)

So when I sell my current house and move into the new place, would I have to pay Capital Gains on my current house?

On more than one occasion you have used Stamp Duty or SDLT interchangeably with LBTT in Scotland and now you're doing it with LTT in Wales. Stamp Duty or Stamp Duty Land Tax to give it its full title is not the same as the taxes in Scotland or Wales.

Rather rude. Many people do use the terms interchangeably - I don't see what is wrong with pointing out that the length of time for a reclaim of the 3% Additional Dwelling Supplement - as it is known in Scotland - differs depending on where in the UK the property is.
One cannot assume that everyone will be aware of that - which is why folks will post on a forum such as this in the first place.
