What do you expect the manufacturer to do if the car is no longer produced?
If the slightly more powerful cars are not available on Motability there is not much the manufacturer can do.
The scheme is run by Motability and they will decide what cars are available.0 -
VW change their engines more often than should be necessary for a supposedly premium brand.
Unfortunately they just aren't very good at engine design so are constantly having to make changes to try and produce a range of which doesn't cost them a fortune in warranty claims.0 -
Motability do have a second arm to them which is a charitable grant of the advance payment.
The criteria is strict and these grants are means tested but if that particular vehicle was the only one then provided met the criteria/means test then motability may fund it.
However if motability said well there's a Peugeot that would do the exact same with a 1500 advanced payment over a 2000 advanced payment be they would only offer the 1500.
There is however a 8 week processing time on those as well but it can be worth doing.
Friends of mine a large family needing a 7 seater but also requiring boot space for a wheelchair recently managed to get the advanced payment for the Skoda kodiaq paid for them as no way could they find the 2750 needed and there was no other alternate having tried the wheelchair in a galaxy and Sharan etc0
