We're in the Money

Thats the title of the song Sainsbury's chief fat cat was inadvertantly recorded singing http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43959687
I guess no one will remember his speech, but everyone will remember him singing that song. :D
Reminds me of Neil Kinnock - no-one remembers Neil Kinnock's speech at the Labour Party Conference - they just remember him going on the beach afterwards, trying to dodge a wave, and going a*se over tit in his best suit :D

Also, the US-style intro they gave him at a campaign event in, I think, Sheffield, in the run up to the election he was going to win ".. the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdo-o-o-o-o-m..."

It is very hard to believe assurances over no store closures - two superstores on the same trading estate? - what about warehousing, distribution and back office jobs? - and a monopoly getting a third of the market is in the interests of customers and suppliers. This shows an enormous arrogance at odds with his public utterances, a public relations disaster to launch his bid.

Reminds me of Mondelez promise to keep production in Britain so they could take over Cadbury's. That promise lasted less than a week.
'We're in the money' looks like Gloating to those who are paying for it. PR disaster sums it up, and looking at the video makes me wonder why we are paying him so much.
You wouldn't see the Queen singing 'we're in the money' Her spin doctors are careful to present a middle class image of her going round turning off lights to save money

Lower prices for consumers, no job losses, no store closures...they've promised everything except £350m a week to the NHS

Sainsbury's promises sound about as honest as a Boris Johnson statement

There will be no closures, Sainsbury/Asda will not close any stores.

They will however be forced to sell a number of stores, this happened back in 2004 when when Morrisons was forced to sell off some of the Safeway stores they took over and merged with.

People have very short memories - just look forward to shopping at Saisda soon!
