Bit of advice / help with benefits

You mention that you're temporarily unable to work but then mention a "colleague" who would give you a loan.
Are you employed in the UK? If so are you signed off sick at the moment and if so for how long?
Do remember that housing benefit is not a right; your eligibility or otherwise will be assessed when you apply. If you're working and earning a reasonable wage you may well not qualify at all. If you could comfortable pay several years rent in advance why on earth would you be looking to claim a benefit? Capital at that level would render you ineligible anyway!
Much has changed in the time you've been away and benefits in particular are changing, and will continue to do so. Don't bank on getting a benefit without fully investigating the eligibility and any conditions of residence which may apply.
You're telling quite a convoluted tale here.... mega bucks in the bank (enough to pay several years rent) but expecting handouts from the taxpayer. Something just doesn't add up here.0 -
