LL selling.

Hi,
So my LL told me he's selling the property i currently rent on5th April.

Is that date consider the 2 months notice start date, or will i get another date when the property gets a buyer?

( it is 8 weeks notice he has to give me, isn't it) ?
Thanks

Is he selling it with you inside as an ongoing concern, or has he actually delivered notice/said you will need to leave because it's being sold?
  • Its being sold and he's hoping that another LL will buy it, but thats not very likely

So he hasn't actually served you official notice, he's just said the house is being sold ideally to another BTL investor? How did he tell you the house was up for sale?

Although it's not relevant to your intital question, why is it unlikely?

He came to the house and told me the house was being sold, and the reasons why they had to sell.
    What would official notice require?

The agent has a comment about the house being perfect for a first time buyer and I think its a little too high priced for a LL to take over- but I'm also being very negative . I love this house and desperately don't want to leave :(:(

    1) to be evicted you must be served a S21 Notice giving you 2 months (not 8 weeks). So far you have not received this.

    2) if he sells to another landlord, he does not need to serve you notice. You just get a new landlord

    3) if a new LL buys, you do not need a new tenancy agreement. The existing one continues, just with a new LL

    4) if you get a new LL, he (new LL) must write to you giving you his details. See

    Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 section 3.
