Assistance with Travel Insurance - close relative

Hi

Could somebody help me in getting travel insurance that covers the scenario whereby I would have to either cancel or curtail the trip due to a close relative having an existing medical condition. (not terminal and they will not be travelling with me)

Most companies do not seem to offer cover. Its a single trip to Europe and my search of the web seems to be generally unsuccessful.

I cant see an insurance company covering either a pre existing condition of some one who isnt even travelling with you .

You can easily get insurance that covers you cancelling your holiday because of the serious illness of a close relative. However it will not cover you if this is the result of a pre-existing condition. Insurance cant cover things that are foreseeably likely to happen.
