Sticking sliding patio door

I have a 30 year old metal sliding patio door between house and conservatory that has become harder and harder to open. I have vacuumed the track as best I can; is there anything I can use to lubricate the track? Thanks in advance.

I clean and lubricate the track on my upvc with wd40,
could it be the wheels have finally given up on your sliding door ?0 -
This happened to my dad's. He got a little man in to fix it and the rollers/bearings needed replacing. It was "cheap" (can't remember how much) ... as a pure guess I'd put the price at £40-60, which is cheaper than a whole new door.0

As above , it will be the rollers

Looking at these replies the most likely thing seems to me to be the rollers. It ‘sounds’ ropey when I slide it. I did think about WD40, but the tracking at the bottom includes some sort of fibres, presumably as a draught protector.
Thank you all, I have to get someone in to replace the lock anyway. So hopefully the same ‘little man’ can do both!0
